SUMMARY

Outdoor Prolink is a members-only e-commerce platform serving professionals across the outdoor industry. Through their professional status, our members gain access to steep, everyday discounts on the gear they rely on for work and play. We partner with top outdoor brands to build pro channel strategies that drive revenue and grow brand awareness in all their channels. We’re seeking a VP of Marketing to join our leadership team, lead our Marketing and Membership teams, and help shape the future of Outdoor Prolink.

The VP of Marketing at Outdoor Prolink owns and leads execution across strategic planning, revenue growth, product development, marketing, membership, branding, and partnerships, working hands-on with teams to turn strategy into results. Together with other members of the executive team, this role will help craft and move Outdoor Prolink towards its 10-year vision, focusing on expansion to new customer segments, markets and partnerships, while ultimately strengthening systems and operations. As the leader of both the Marketing and Membership teams, the VP of Marketing is charged with complete ownership of the Outdoor Prolink membership lifecycle, from acquisition and activation to engagement and retention.

While we’ve grown a lot since our start in 2004, the Outdoor Prolink team remains small and scrappy at 20 people strong. That said, this role is not a purely brand-focused or big-team position. The ideal candidate is excited to roll up their sleeves, work closely with the executive team, and actively contribute to execution while building scalable systems for the future. This is a hands-on, player-coach role ideal for a strategic marketer who thrives in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment and is comfortable operating at both the 30,000-foot and ground levels.

ABOUT THIS POSITION:

  • Boulder, CO - Hybrid Remote (3 days/week in office)
  • Full-time - Salary starting at $160,000 per year (DOE) and competitive bonus package

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in key leadership discussions around short-, mid-, and long-term strategies as well as quarterly and annual goal planning to grow people, products, and processes.
  • Play a leading role in creating and managing a plan to achieve sustainable, profitable growth.
  • Own and deliver revenue growth in partnership with sales, product/development, and account management, with clear accountability across the full funnel from acquisition to retention.
  • Achieve demand generation targets and partner with sales to drive success throughout the sales funnel.
  • Deliver membership growth results. Develop and execute an omni-channel strategy that utilizes key partnerships, events, digital marketing and word-of-mouth campaigns to drive membership growth.
  • Provide strategic leadership and support for the Brand Services function, overseeing and empowering a team of account managers responsible for the success of our 200 brand partners on the Outdoor Prolink platform. This role does not manage brand accounts directly, but instead focuses on refining and scaling processes, defining service standards, and evolving brand marketing services to support sustainable growth and operational excellence.
  • Catalyze innovation. Create breakthrough customer offerings and advance marketing by experimenting with new technology platforms, alternative media, new tools and techniques. Act as a visionary and lead with creativity.
  • Create new B2B and B2C business opportunities through top-of-funnel and digital engagement that is deeply partnered with sales team initiatives.
  • Drive strategic plans that identify profitable areas of growth and build the right team alignment to deliver on those plans.
  • Relentless focus on the key customer personas, clearly articulating their needs and championing insights about them across the organization and into marketing campaigns.
  • Build digital excellence that utilizes data, testing, and messaging to improve overall performance across media and the digital funnels.
  • Lead a passionate team that is empowered to deliver within their channels and within the organization.
  • Grow brand awareness and brand influence across key vertical channels and within the analyst community.
  • Oversee budget, ensuring all marketing, membership and staffing expenditures are generating a high rate of return.

SKILLS, STRENGTHS & EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone with 10–15+ years of experience across marketing, growth, and revenue-focused leadership roles, with demonstrated success operating at a senior or executive level. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mix of strategic leadership, hands-on execution, and commercial acumen, including:

Growth & Revenue Leadership

  • Proven experience owning and delivering revenue targets in a B2B, B2C, or marketplace environment
  • Deep understanding of demand generation, funnel optimization, and lifecycle marketing
  • Ability to forecast, model, and optimize growth using metrics such as CAC, LTV, conversion rates, and retention

Membership & Community-Driven Growth

  • Experience building, scaling, and engaging membership-based or subscription communities
  • Strong instincts for customer segmentation, personas, and behavioral insights
  • Ability to drive acquisition while also increasing engagement, loyalty, and lifetime value

Brand & Partner Marketing

  • Demonstrated success managing strategic brand partnerships and co-marketing initiatives
  • Experience delivering white-glove account management for top-tier partners or clients
  • Ability to align partner goals with platform growth, revenue, and brand awareness

Digital, Data & Performance Marketing

  • Proven experience leading ecommerce growth strategies, including site optimization, conversion rate optimization (CRO), merchandising, promotions, and lifecycle marketing.
  • Strong command of digital channels including email, paid media, SEO, partnerships, events, and organic growth loops.
  • Comfort with analytics platforms, experimentation, and performance reporting.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to translate insights into action.

  • Experience leading, mentoring, and scaling high-performing marketing and membership teams
  • Ability to empower team members while maintaining accountability and alignment
  • Collaborative leadership style with strong cross-functional communication skills
